Terms of use

A clear agreement for using Mapapal.

These terms apply when you use the Mapapal apps, website, trip pages and related services. By using Mapapal, you agree to them.

Last updated: 28 July 2026

1. What Mapapal provides

Mapapal lets people record GPS trips, share live progress, follow permitted trips, revisit journey history and export trip data. Some features require an account, while a valid sharing link may allow access without signing in.

2. Not an emergency or safety service

Mapapal is a convenience for sharing journeys. It is not an emergency service, safety monitor or substitute for calling local emergency services. GPS accuracy, mobile coverage, battery level, device settings and internet availability can delay, omit or misplace positions. Do not rely on Mapapal where a delayed or inaccurate location could put someone at risk.

3. Your account and sharing links

You are responsible for safeguarding your login details and for activity performed through your account. Sharing links can provide access to trip information; only send them to the intended audience. Tell us promptly if you believe an account or link is being misused.

4. Your trips and permissions

You keep responsibility for the trip information and other content you provide. You give Mapapal the permission needed to store, process and display that content solely to operate and improve the service according to your sharing choices. Only record or share another person’s location when you have a lawful and appropriate reason to do so.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Mapapal unlawfully, to harass or track someone without permission, to violate privacy or intellectual-property rights, to distribute harmful code, to interfere with the service, or to attempt unauthorized access. Do not copy, resell, reverse engineer or commercially exploit the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.

6. Availability and changes

Mapapal may change, suspend or discontinue features, and cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may restrict or end access when these terms are breached, when needed to protect users or the service, or when the service is discontinued.

7. Third-party services

Mapapal uses or links to services operated by others, including map and app-store providers. Their own terms apply to those services. Mapapal is not responsible for third-party content, availability or practices.

8. Disclaimers and liability

Mapapal is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that trip data will always be complete, current or accurate. To the extent permitted by law, Mapapal is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.

9. Updates to these terms

These terms may be updated as Mapapal evolves. The date above shows the latest revision. Continuing to use the service after updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without excluding any mandatory protections that apply to you under relevant law.
